LETHBRIDGE, AB - Second weekend marks new activity for Lethbridge College Kodiaks and University of Lethbridge student-athletes University of Lethbridge (U of L ) Pronghorns Here's a look at what's in store for the secondary teams this weekend LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE KODIAKS The Kodiaks men's basketball team concluded its season with an exhibition game against the U of L Pronghorns on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. The Kodiaks lost 766. -70. The team begins its regular season on Friday, October 21 against the Olds College Broncos. The women's basketball team continues to practice before the start of the regular season, including Friday, Oct. 21 against Olds College. The cross country team will be in Calgary on Saturday, October 15th for the St. Running Room Grand Prix #
hosted by the University of Mary. The event is an important warm-up for the Kodiaks ahead of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) championships on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Edmonton. The women's soccer team has two games to finish the regular season this weekend. The Kodiaks will face Red Deer Polytechnic on Saturday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. On Sunday, October 16, at 12:00, there is a meeting with the University of Alberta-Augustana. The team's season record is 6-3-1. The men's soccer team closes the ACAC regular season at
p.m. on Saturday, October 15 against Red Deer Polytechnic. The team's season record is 3-3-3. Both the men's and women's soccer teams will compete at Comet Stadium in Raymond this weekend. The stadium will host the 2022 ACAC Men's and Women's Soccer Championships hosted by Southern Alberta Homes. The women's volleyball team will face the SAIT Trojans at Calgary Rally Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 to kick off the regular season. The men's volleyball team begins the regular season at the same time at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 against the SAIT Trojans, and that game will also be played at Rally Pointe. In other Kodiaks news, women's soccer star Ashley Sazalski was named the Kodiaks Female Athlete of the Week. The third-year forward scored three goals in the Kodiaks' 5-2 win over Olds College on Sunday, Oct. 9. He ranks second in the ACAC in scoring. Vincent Dyck, the midfielder of the men's soccer team, was chosen as the male athlete of the week. The sophomore student-athlete earned MVP honors in the Kodiaks' game against SAIT on Saturday, Oct. 8. U OF L PRONGORNS The U of L men's basketball team took on Lethbridge College in an exhibition game on Wednesday, October 12th. and won 76:70. The Pronghorns travel to Montreal this weekend for the McGill Basketball Classic. They will face McGill University at 8:00 p.m. on Friday October 1
th. That will be followed by a matchup with the University of Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15. The weekend ends with a game against Saint Mary's University at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16. The team begins the regular season of Canada West on Friday, November
against the University of Victoria. The women's basketball team is 1-1 in exhibition action this month. The Pronghorn defeated the University of Northern British Columbia 78-70 on Sunday, Oct. 9, and will face the University of the Fraser Valley in Vancouver at 3 p.m. on Friday October 1
th. Their weekend schedule ends on Saturday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. with another game in Vancouver, this time against the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. The men's soccer team is 1-9-1 during the regular season. In their last match on Sunday, October 2, the team lost 2-1 to MacEwan University. They will be looking to build momentum this weekend with just three games remaining. They host the University of Calgary Dinos at 5 p.m. on Friday October 1

The Pronghorns will host Mount Royal University on Sunday, October 16 at 2:15 p.m. Their final regular season game is Saturday, October 22 at 2:15 p.m. when they host the University of Saskatchewan. It's been a tough season for the women's soccer team. The team's record is 0-10-2 with two games remaining in the regular season. They host the University of Manitoba Bisons on Saturday, October 15th at 12:00 p.m. Their regular season ends at 12 p.m. on Sunday, October 16 at home against the University of Winnipeg. In other Pronghorn Athletics news, while the team did not qualify for the Canada West finals, women's rugby forward Savanna Collison was named the U SPORTS Women's Rugby Player of the Week. The fifth-year player scored two tries in the Pronghorns' 15-10 season-opener against the University of Calgary on Friday, October 7. To end his career at U of L, Collison finished the season leading the Antihorns in seven of six games. He also finished second in the conference in scoring and was named Canada West Rugby Player of the Week.
